On the last game of the regular season we took destiny into our own hands as a win would assure us at least a tie with Bethany for the last spot in the playoffs. It was a tough match as we were playing the second place team in the division. And just like the last game against the top team in the division, we matched up very well, the game ending in a 2-2 tie. Our opposition were very fast up front and always chipping the ball in for the strikers to run onto. Kirk made some awesome saves all night, earning him the Man-Of-The-Match honours. Another great sign that our team was playing well was the fact that we never played from behind the entire night. Cory opened the scoring with a terrific header off an amazing cross by Mike (who was playing with jet lag after just getting back from England). After the other team tied it up, we went ahead once again after Jacey kicked a great ball forward that Chris Bock ran onto and managed to put past the on rushing keeper. The other team kept pushing and were eventually able to tie it up. This was our team's first tie all season, and all though we didn't win, we still had a chance to make the playoffs if Bethany lost that night. A Bethany loss would mean we were tied for points, but we would advance because of goal differential between our head-to-head games.
