Two undefeated teams hooked up on a very chilly Monday night in Burnaby. MRCC (3-0) took on Sutherland (2-0). Despite getting an early goal from Cory, Sutherland kept coming at us with some speedy forwards. Kris (filling in for Kirk again) continued his aggressive goal keeping, making great saves to keep us ahead. However, in the second half Sutherland kept up the pressure and managed to score 3 consecutive goals (one being on a controversial penalty kick call).
Being down two goals didn't deter the team as they kept on pushing forward finally getting a second tally from Mike whose long chip shot found its way over the keeper and into the back of the net. That sparked the team and, continuing the pressure, Dave chipped a shot in from the wing that also was beyond the goalie's reach and into the back of the net. The team showed great fortitude overcoming a two goal deficit. The finally score was a 3-3 draw, the most goals either team has had scored on them this season so far.
Along with Kris' great goal keeping, Ron made a goal line save kicking the ball away at the last moment to preserve the draw. Kris' great play earned him the man-of-the-match. Unfortunately we lost Zaven for up to a month when he collided with the brutal artificial turf early on in the game and torn up his knee.

Please send this poor pathetic picture of Zaven to all your friends. Help us raise money to get him a knee replacement. Just look at him. Don't let him down, give now and give generously to the 'New knee for Zee' fund. Operators are standing by.
